Dutch Develop Appreciation for Vietnamese Cuisine

The monthly event aims to contribute to enhancing mutual understanding, friendship, and solidarity among the embassies of ASEAN countries in the Netherlands.

Mayelinne de Lara, representative of The Diplomat Magazine of the Netherlands and the EU, expressed her appreciation for the special relationship among ASEAN countries and diplomatic families in the ASEAN community in the Netherlands.

She proposed the idea of organizing a common cultural event for the embassies of ASEAN countries and other foreign embassies in the Netherlands. The goal of the event would be to promote the unique culture and cuisine of ASEAN countries, especially Vietnam, to the Dutch people.

Participants at the event had the opportunity to taste Vietnamese food and take part in a spring roll making competition.

Vietnam overcome Malaysia to secure semifinal berth in 2023 SEA Games men’s football

The outcome of the Group B match held at Prince Stadium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia was decided as soon as Malaysia were left with only nine players on the field following two red cards. The referee awarded Vietnam a penalty when a Malaysia defender handled the ball with their arm inside the box.  Although Nguyen Van Tung’s initial penalty kick was saved by goalkeeper Sikh Izhan, he was able to score on his second attempt, resulting in the opener for Vietnam. Following their concession, Malaysia were compelled to push forward in search of an equalizer, but they ended up seeing Van Tung complete his double and fourth goal at the 2023 SEA Games by heading in a cross from Vo Minh Trong on the left flank in the 32nd minute. Vietnam, Cuba to bolster cultural, tourism ties

In the meeting with the Vietnamese guest, Minister of Culture Alpidio Alonso Grau expressed his joy at the success of the special cultural and artistic programme jointly staged by the two sides at Jose Marti Theatre in Havana on April 20 to celebrate several major anniversaries of historic milestones in Vietnam-Cuba relations. The two ministries agreed that the two sides have coordinated to organize successful cultural exchange programmes on the occasion of visits of high-ranking leaders of the two countries.
